The Apothecary Diaries Takes Over the Tokyo Sky: Inside the Tokyo City View Exhibition
Maomao's dance over the real Tokyo skyline, a chibi Maomao statue and a voice guide by the cast. Everything you need to know before this limited-time exhibition closes on October 26.

Picture Maomao dancing on the palace wall while the real Tokyo skyline glitters behind her, 250 meters up. That's the idea behind The Apothecary Diaries × Tokyo City View, a limited-time exhibition on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. It's the first event in the series built entirely around the show's dance scenes, and it closes for good on Monday, October 26, 2026.
If you're in Tokyo this month, or know someone who is, this is the one to catch. Season 3 started airing on October 2, and the timing couldn't be better.

Watch: Loulan's Final Dance at Tokyo City View
Tokyo City View posted this short clip from inside the exhibition. It shows Loulan's last dance playing against the city at night, so you can see how the scenes blend into the real view.
🌃 When the Night Sky Becomes the Stage

Most anime exhibits put you in a dark room with posters on the walls. This one does the opposite. Tokyo City View is a glass-walled observation deck, so the entrance area puts big screens right in front of the panoramic windows. Iconic scenes like Maomao's dance play in sync with the skyline, so for a moment the real city turns into the world of the story.
The screens come from special sponsor TVS REGZA, using its 4K laser projectors and Mini LED displays to keep the show's rich colors sharp next to the bright city lights. There's also a special recap video that walks you through the story so far.
Our tip: go after sunset. The exhibition is open until 10PM, and the dance scenes were made for the night sky.
🐱 Meet the Chibi Maomao Statue

The star of the show is a Maomao statue making its first-ever appearance in Japan. She's in the cute two-heads-tall chibi style, sitting with her bowl as if she just walked out of her apothecary shop. Expect a line, because she's the main photo spot of the whole event.
🎭 Walk Through the Story
Beyond the entrance, the exhibition area looks back at Seasons 1 and 2 through key scenes and memorable lines, including pieces being shown in Japan for the first time. Highlights include:
- Poisons & medicines: displays about the herbs, remedies and poisons Maomao can't stop testing on herself
- The dance zone: a special area focused on the dances of Jinshi and Loulan
- Character banners: the cast in their finest robes, lined up against the windows
🎧 A Voice Guide Starring Maomao and Jinshi
Bring your phone and earphones. The exhibition has a free audio guide on Spotify, recorded just for this event by Aoi Yuki (Maomao) and Takeo Otsuka (Jinshi). It includes the two looking back on the series and a short exclusive voice drama, which fans won't hear anywhere else.

🗺️ Getting There
Tokyo City View is on the 52nd floor of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower in Roppongi, connected to Roppongi Station (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line) by an underground walkway. Buy your ticket or pick it up on the 3rd floor of the tower, then ride the elevator up. For questions, Tokyo City View's info line is 03-6406-6652.
Can't Make It to Tokyo? There's Plenty More Coming
The exhibition is just the warm-up. The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 premiered on October 2, 2026 and runs as a split-cour season, with Part 2 arriving in April 2027. The first movie, The Apothecary Diaries: The Deceased Empress' Treasure (a brand-new story by the original author, Natsu Hyuuga), opens in Japanese theaters on December 11, 2026.
Our take: this is the kind of exhibition that only works in one building in the world. If you're anywhere near Tokyo before October 26, go at night, grab the bonus ticket and say hi to chibi Maomao for us. 🐱🌙
