Thought you were done with Night City? CD Projekt Red doesn't think so.
Today's REDstream walked through Cyberpunk 2077's Edgerunners 2 Update (Update 2.5), and CDPR published the official patch notes right after. The update is free, and it lands tomorrow, Thursday, October 22 on PC, Mac (Steam, GOG, Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version get it in the days after.
It's timed to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, which premiered on Netflix on October 20 (we covered that, and the Cyberpunk movie news, here). And it's a lot more than a few anime outfits.
The Basics
| Update | Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) |
| Release | Thursday, October 22, 2026 |
| Platforms | PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X|S (Switch 2 and Mac App Store to follow) |
| Price | Free |
| Headline features | Dual wielding, cyberware skins, 2 new side quests, console mod support |
Dual Wielding Is Finally Here
"Sometimes one gun just isn't enough." That's CDPR's line, and it's the feature everyone was waiting for.
The new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree, plus four supporting perks, lets V dual-wield Power Pistols and Revolvers. It's a full new playstyle, not just a cosmetic toggle, and Photo Mode gets new poses so you can show it off.
Show Off Your Chrome: Glamdocs
You can now customize the look of your arm cyberware. Equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire or the Projectile Launch System and visit one of 5 Glamdocs, marked with a spray paint icon on the map.
Each Glamdoc runs out of its own shop, with its own intro scene, voice acting and animations, and its own catalog of skins with custom colors. That's a lot of effort for a cosmetics system, and it sounds like the kind of thing that will make Night City feel more alive.
The Edgerunners Content
- Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of Edgerunners 2. To unlock it, finish The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message.
- A new 5-piece gear set based on King, earned during Clampdown.
- A new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, with tracks from the Edgerunners series.
More Night City to Explore
- Welcome to Paradise, a second new side quest: a mystery that takes you on a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night. It unlocks after The Heist and Street Cred level 15.
- 12 new Minor Arcana Tarot cards hidden across the city. They're tied to an extension of the Fool on the Hill quest, which starts when you scan any of the new cards, and collecting all of them earns a special reward. The Tarot menu now splits Major and Minor Arcana.

New Fits
CDPR is adding a new collection of 5 outfit sets. Four are in stores now, and the fifth "will hit Night City shelves just a little later." The NUS Infiltrator set also goes on sale.
| Set | Where to buy |
|---|---|
| Maxiwear | Heywood, Arroyo, Little China |
| Jinguji | City Center |
| NetWatch | Kabuki, Japantown |
| IconAmerica | Pacifica, Badlands, Northside |
| Fifth set | Coming later, not revealed yet |
| NUS Infiltrator | Kabuki, Japantown |
Some hairstyles that used to be NPC only are now available for V (some are limited to feminine or masculine body types). Photo Mode also gets frames from the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, so your shots can look like custom cards. And there are 4 new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech, available through Twitch Drops.
Mods on Console
This is the sleeper feature. Update 2.5 adds cross platform mod support powered by mod.io, so you can browse and install a selection of player made mods right from the in game menu on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. CDPR calls it a first step, with more mods coming over time.
One catch: on console, achievements and trophies can't be earned while playing a modded save. Modded saves get their own icon in the Load Game menu, so you'll always know which is which.
Quality of Life and Tech
- FOV slider on consoles, finally.
- Saves are now grouped by playthrough.
- Item filters for apartment and vehicle stashes.
- DLSS 4.5 support on PC, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation.
- Performance improvements for ray tracing and PS5 Pro, plus better HDR.
- Fixes for PS5 HDR settings that did nothing, Film Grain that did nothing, and a Switch 2 "insufficient space" save error.
The full list is in CDPR's official patch notes.
Our Take
I watched the REDstream live, and it was great. The set was amazing, and CDPR made it clear there are surprises in this update they want us to find on our own. The patch notes back that up: of the five new outfit sets, only four are named, and CDPR says the last one "will hit Night City shelves just a little later..." without saying what it is.
That's the best part of this update for me. Dual wielding and chrome skins are the headline, but a new mystery quest, 12 hidden tarot cards and teased secrets are a real reason to load up a save and go looking. Nearly six years after launch, Night City still has things to find.
Update 2.5 drops tomorrow. Are you going in for dual wielding, the Glamdocs, or the secrets?
