Oct 2 — Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
Flight CombatAce Combat 8: Wings of Theve
The skies are calling again. Ace Combat has always been about big, cinematic dogfights and surprisingly emotional stories, and Wings of Theve looks ready to push both further — tighter squad bonds, tougher choices and some of the prettiest clouds you'll ever fire a missile through.
Oct 6 — Gears of War: E-Day
HeadlinerGears of War: E-Day
This is the one. E-Day takes us back to Emergence Day, the night the Locust burst out of the ground, with a young Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago caught in the middle. The Coalition is going back to the series' horror roots, and every trailer so far has looked brutal, gritty and absolutely massive.
Oct 6 — Star Wars: Galactic Racer
RacingStar Wars: Galactic Racer
Podracing fans, your time has finally come. Set in the lawless Outer Rim after the Empire's fall, Galactic Racer throws you into an underground league where crime syndicates bankroll the chaos. Speeder bikes, skim speeders, high stakes and pure speed — it's the Star Wars racer we've been waiting on since Episode I Racer.
Oct 13 — Planet Zoo 2
SimPlanet Zoo 2
The coziest pick on this list. Frontier's zoo builder is going bigger, adding fully aquatic and flying animals for the first time, plus huge Wildlife Reserves where you can release animals back into the wild. If you lost hundreds of hours to the first one, clear your calendar.
Oct 13 — Valor Mortis
SoulslikeValor Mortis
From the makers of Ghostrunner comes a first-person soulslike with one wild hook: you're a soldier of Napoleon's army brought back from the dead. Supernatural powers, nightmarish monsters and a dark conspiracy make this one of the month's most unique-looking games — and our dark-horse pick.
Oct 15 — Castlevania: Belmont's Curse
2D ActionCastlevania: Belmont's Curse
A brand-new 2D Castlevania, made with the teams behind Dead Cells? Yes, please. Set 23 years after Dracula's Curse, you play as Rose Belmont, whip in hand, in an all-new action-exploration adventure. Gorgeous art, a classic vibe and some serious talent behind it.
Oct 16 — Tales of Eternia Remastered
JRPG RemasterTales of Eternia Remastered
One of the most beloved Tales games is back. Reid, Farah, Keele and Meredy's journey between the worlds of Inferia and Celestia gets a fresh coat of paint, finally making this classic easy to play on modern systems. A must for JRPG fans who missed it the first time.
Oct 22 — Final Fantasy Resonance
RPGFinal Fantasy Resonance
A love letter to classic Final Fantasy. Resonance brings back beautiful pixel-art style with a modern twist, letting you summon Visions of legendary heroes from across the series to fight at your side. Nostalgic and fresh at the same time — exactly how we like it.
Oct 23 — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
ShooterCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 4
The biggest shooter of the year lands on the Korean Peninsula, where a North Korean invasion threatens to tip the world into chaos. Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare campaigns always bring the drama, and this one also marks Call of Duty's arrival on Switch 2.
Oct 29 — Phantom Blade Zero
HeadlinerPhantom Blade Zero
We've been hyped for this since the first reveal. You play as Soul, an assassin with just 66 days left to live, in a dark kung fu world full of stunning, lightning-fast sword fights. Every gameplay trailer has looked incredible — this could be the action game of the year.
Our Picks of the Month
If you only make room for a few, go with Gears of War: E-Day for the blockbuster, Phantom Blade Zero for the action, and Castlevania: Belmont's Curse for pure old-school fun. And keep an eye on Valor Mortis — we have a feeling it'll surprise a lot of people.
Release dates can shift and may vary slightly by region and platform.
