Resident Evil
HorrorResident Evil
Forget everything you remember about the old movies. Zach Cregger, the mind behind Barbarian and Weapons, tears the franchise down to the studs and rebuilds it as pure, nerve-shredding horror. Following an ordinary medical courier trapped in Raccoon City as the outbreak hits, it feels like playing the games for the first time with the lights off. Crowds are loving it, and so are we.
Heart of the Beast
SurvivalHeart of the Beast
Brad Pitt plays a retired Special Forces vet who survives a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness with his combat dog, Odin, and the two of them have to fight their way home. It's tense, raw and brutal, but the real heart here is the bond between man and dog. Bring tissues. Seriously.
Avengers: Endgame Encore
Re-releaseAvengers: Endgame Encore
Yes, it's a re-release, and no, we don't care seeing "Avengers, assemble" on a giant screen again hits just as hard seven years later. Marvel brought Endgame back with brand new footage that ties straight into Avengers: Doomsday this December, and fans showed up big, pulling in an impressive $86 million worldwide in its opening weekend. We're also all Marvel fans so we'll love everything that comes out even if it sucks.
The End of Oak Street
Sci-FiThe End of Oak Street
What if your whole street just… vanished? Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor lead a family whose neighborhood gets ripped out of reality by a cosmic event and dropped somewhere very, very wrong. It's weird, gorgeous and full of big-screen wonder (yes, there are dinosaurs), and it's exactly the kind of original sci-fi we want more of.
Mayday
Action-ComedyMayday
Ryan Reynolds is a Navy pilot stranded behind enemy lines during the Cold War, and Kenneth Branagh is the wildly eccentric ex-KGB agent who might be his only way out. The chemistry between these two is ridiculous. It's a throwback buddy action comedy that's pure fun from start to finish, and the perfect movie-night pick.
Project Hail Mary
Sci-FiProject Hail Mary
Ryan Gosling wakes up alone on a spaceship with no memory and the fate of Earth on his shoulders and then he makes a friend. Andy Weir's book came to life beautifully: funny, emotional, smart and packed with jaw dropping space visuals. And Rocky? Instantly one of our favorite movie characters ever. Fist my bump.
In the Grey
ActionIn the Grey
Guy Ritchie doing what Guy Ritchie does best. Henry Cavill and Jake Gyllenhaal team up with Eiza González for a slick, stylish heist full of sharp talk, double crosses and big action. It flew under a lot of people's radar in theaters, so now's the perfect time to catch up.
The Mandalorian and Grogu
Star WarsThe Mandalorian and Grogu
Din Djarin and little Grogu finally made the jump to the big screen, and it was worth the wait. It's a big, fun Star Wars adventure with the heart that made the show so special and yes, Grogu steals every single scene he's in. Now it's on Disney+, so you can watch it as many times as you want.
Hope
Sci-Fi HorrorHope
From the director of The Wailing comes a massive sci-fi horror epic about a remote Korean village fighting to survive something not of this world. With Hwang Jung-min, Jung Ho-yeon, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, it's intense, unpredictable and unlike anything else in theaters right now. See it on the biggest screen you can.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
SuperheroSpider-Man: Brand New Day
After No Way Home, Peter Parker has no one who remembers him and Tom Holland's Spidey starting over from scratch as a street level hero is exactly what we wanted. It's thrilling, heartfelt and full of surprises, and there's a reason it's the biggest movie of the year. Still in theaters, with digital expected soon.
That's Our List!
Ten movies, zero regrets. If you haven't seen Resident Evil or Hope yet, get to a theater while you still can and if you're staying in, Project Hail Mary and Mayday make one heck of a double feature.
Release and streaming dates can change and may vary by region.
